Fanart for the Johnny Wander short story of the same name, which is 4 pages long and totally adorable and linked here! [link]
The jist of it is that Delilah is a little blind girl, and therefore immune to the basilisk stare, which as you know turns you into stone! poor little mouse! Anyway she thinks the basilisk is a puppy, cos she's blind and all, and a really sweet little story about friendship and why you shouldn't be a dick to girls with pet basilisks ensues!
disappointed my basilisk looks so little like Yuko's, but im generally happy with the piece! Made me remember why i hate backgrounds though -_-
Delilah and the Basilisk is property of Ananth Panagariya & Yuko Ota
Ahh i just read the little comic and i have to just say that it's so adorable! Love your piece and how you showed how Delilah cares for the little Basilisk even though she doesn't know it's a scary monster instead of a dog
I discovered Johnny Wander yesterday, and since then it has become one of my all-time favorite webcomics. Which I find odd, because the first two pages made me think, "Man, I'm not going to like this. Might as well quit reading." But I kept going, and it has been totally worth it so far. xD I think it's because the characters are so cute. That certainly helps, haha. The Basilisk story was one of my favorite shorts though, and I really like this fanart of it. The food placement and the way the creature seems to be supporting her is so cute. And that mouse looks like it has seen better days, lol.
Aww!!! Cute!!! This is GoldeBird94 from youtube. I was wondering if you'd be able to make an avatar for me... Just toothless' eyes, the big ones with "I see you!" written under them. Please? LOVE your work, by the way!!! Your waterfall portal thingy is AMAZING!!! You're soo lucky to have CS5. Use it well!!!
That just as it happens was the first strip I read when I found out about Hourly Comics. And may I add, this is absolutely friggan adorable! Good show sir.
Fantastic depiction of an fantastic story. The petrified mouse and the food placement were particularly nice touches Johnny Wander is right up there with my favorite webcomics.
Great work!!! I'm not really fond of the lens flare on the bowl (although it looks great on the window), but still a masterpiece. I've read the comic after seeing your work, and both pieces are soo sweet, I think they'll give me cavities ^___^
